Wind of Change was born out of our passion for humanitarian work. Through our travels, work, and experiences we have seen the great potential of people in countries such as Nepal to have a better life, but they are held back by lack of opportunity. By working with these people, we wish to provide them with an opportunity to enrich their quality of life and improve their chances of providing a better future for themselves.
We believe that every child has a right to a decent childhood – to be healthy, live in a safe home, and enjoy quality education. Children living at Onni Children’s House will be cared for in a loving, safe environment where they will receive every opportunity to grow up as happy, well-balanced members of society with hopes for a bright future.
Through our experience working in the field of development, we have come to realise the great challenges larger aid programs face in delivering relief to the people at grass roots level. It is not easy to be effective at implementing large scale solutions to poverty, and often significant resources are used inefficiently. Too often, those most in need are not reached, and donations given by well meaning people can be poorly spent or eaten up by unnecessary administration costs.
We see ourselves as an alternative to larger aid organisations, as we believe that we can be more effective through focusing on smaller projects where we can make a substantial difference to the actual community. We feel that it is better to make a significant change to the lives of a few, who can then positively impact the community around them.
We are very excited about the Onni Children’s House project, and believe that it will continue to be a successful and rewarding journey, seeing the children develop and grow into healthy and happy individuals.
We would love you to join us on the journey!
